On Monday, Punjab government announced to open schools despite the cold wave and alarming high AQI.
Initially, the winter holidays were announced from December 18-31, but the period was extended to January 9 amid cold wave.
Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, confirmed the news on social media, announcing that students education remains of paramount importance. He made the announcement after meeting Chief Secretary and Education Minister.
