PM Kakar partners with UNICEF to enhance education access for out-of-school children

In a commendable move towards fostering education in Pakistan, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has engaged with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to develop a comprehensive strategy for the education of out-of-school children in the country.
During a meeting with UNICEF Representative in Pakistan, Abdullah Fadil, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized the pivotal role technology can play in reducing illiteracy. He suggested providing students in underprivileged areas with access to the latest information through the distribution of tablets, envisioning a transformative impact on education in these regions. Kakar expressed his full support for UNICEF’s initiatives to introduce technology in the education sector, particularly in less-developed areas.
The caretaker premier assured UNICEF of providing all necessary facilities for the successful implementation of projects aimed at generating employment opportunities for the youth. Highlighting UNICEF’s initiatives in the education sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Kakar commended the organization’s resilience in the face of criticism, particularly from neighboring India. He recognized the significant contribution of UNICEF in Pakistan’s anti-polio campaign, emphasizing the positive impact of the collaborative efforts between the government and organizations like UNICEF on public attitudes towards vaccination in the country.

In an encouraging update, the caretaker premier was informed that UNICEF has executed projects worth approximately $1 billion over the last five years.
