Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather update; light rains likely

PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rains for Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday evening/night.
As per the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly will persist over the upper parts of Pakistan till Tuesday.

Under these conditions, light rain with snow over hills is likely in Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Bannu, Kurram, Peshawar, Dir, Chitral and Swat on Monday evening/night.

Cold and dry weather is likely in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Freezing and partly cloudy weather is likely in upper districts.

Dense Fog is likely to persist in Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Peshawar, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas.

Dense fog will continue to affect normal vehicular flow on inter and intra-city roads.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 00-02 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and -01-01 C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather persisted in Peshawar and most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 06 C below freezing.
In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 01 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 81 per cent.

The dense fog prevailed in the plains which disrupted inter and intra-city roads in the plains.
